United Water Foundation Donates $55,000 to Support Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Last week, United Water Foundation donated $55,000 to Bergen County’s United Way Compassion Fund. 100% of the donation will be distributed to  assist our community members who suffered major property loss or damage in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The donation was generated in response to the employee fundraising effort that we launched in November of 2012. Through the generous contributions employees, we were able to raise and donate a total of $30,000 to the Hurricane Sandy relief effort. On top of the $30,000 donated by employees, the United Water Foundation made an additional $25,000 contribution. United Water is a longtime partner of United Way and has been providing assistance and support to various local community organizations in need.

If you or someone you know has been affected by Sandy, please visit for www.nj211.org or by call call 2-1-1 for more information about United Way’s Compassion Fund and application process.
